Squirrel Wood Service Crew
Squirrel Wood Scout Campsite is maintained by a dedicated team of volunteers. The team work tirelessly to keep the site in the best of conditions with new activities being added all the time.
We are always looking to welcome new members to the team. Weather you can offer the odd hour here and there to help run our activities, or you want to come down and help with the many projects that we are working on (as we all know Scouting is only an hour a week!). The Squirrel Wood service crew have a great laugh. While working with the crew you will get breakfast and lunch provided and there is usually someone cooking on an evening or a take away being delivered.
Explorer Scouts are welcome to join the service crew providing your leaders are fully aware of what you are doing. If you help with the crew on a regular basis you can claim the volunteering section of your Duke of Edinburgh award or your Queen Scout Award (don’t forget to talk to you leader about this before all your hard work).
Whether digging drainage, running archery or planting trees the list never ends and many hands make light work!
It’s also a great way to make friends and socialise!
